Why This Site Exists
Printed directories became historical sources, while the records behind them remained divided by purpose. Honolulu Real Property Assessment and DPP handle parcel and permit information. Hawaii's Bureau of Conveyances is the statewide recorder. The Office of Elections controls voter data under HRS ยง11-97, and the State Archives and UH preserve directory runs and genealogy collections. We bring the verified portals, office contacts, coverage notes, and access limits together for East Honolulu research.
What You Will Find Here
- Pages by angle: the street directory (address-keyed records), the city directory (the historical shelf), and the resident lookup (one-person searches)
- Custodians and systems: Honolulu assessment and permits, the statewide recorder, elections, courts, vital records, libraries, and archives
- Practical methods: how to follow an address, read a dated directory entry, or verify one record against another
- Access boundaries: what Hawaii law makes public, what stays restricted, and how a focused UIPA request works
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site, not part of East Honolulu, the City and County of Honolulu, the State of Hawaii, any court, or any library. Those limits matter:
- We cannot confirm whether a specific person currently lives in East Honolulu
- We cannot pull, certify, or change any record on your behalf
- We cannot add anyone to, or remove anyone from, any roll or database
- We cannot give legal advice about a record or a dispute
- We cannot promise that every coverage year, link, or office detail here is current at this moment
Only the custodian office can confirm, certify, or correct a record. Nothing found through this site may be used for credit, employment, tenant, or insurance decisions.
